1. Who we are

No Website Mate (ABN 32 741 368 339) builds websites for trade businesses. We operate from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.

This policy covers nowebsitemate.com.au and the way we handle personal information collected through it, by email, by phone, or in the course of a project. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. What we collect

Information you give us

When you fill in an enquiry form on this site, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • Your business or trade (optional)
  • Whatever you write in the message field, and your answer to whether you're looking for a website

If you call, text, email or message us on Instagram, we hold whatever you send us in that conversation.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our host and analytics tools record technical data when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and time spent. This is used in aggregate to understand traffic, not to identify you personally.

Payment information

If you buy a build slot, payment is processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's own checkout page and never pass through or get stored on our servers. We only see the confirmation, amount, and your name and email.

Project information

During a build we'll usually receive material you send us — logos, photos, copy, business details, licence numbers, testimonials, existing site logins. We treat this as confidential and use it only to deliver your project.

3. How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Reply to your enquiry and quote on your job
  • Deliver, host and support the website we build for you
  • Invoice you and keep the records the ATO requires
  • Send occasional updates about your project or our services (you can opt out any time)
  • Understand which pages and ads actually work, so we're not wasting money on the ones that don't

We do not sell your personal information. We don't trade it, rent it, or hand your details to a list broker. Ever.

4. Third parties

We use a small number of services to run this business. Each one may hold some of your information:

  • Netlify — hosts this website and receives enquiry form submissions. Servers are located overseas, including the United States.
  • Stripe — processes payments. Stripe operates globally and has its own privacy policy.
  • Meta (Facebook & Instagram) — we run the Meta Pixel on this site to measure ad performance, and we may receive messages from you through Instagram.
  • Google Fonts — typefaces on this site load from Google's servers, which means your browser sends Google a request including your IP address.
  • Email and accounting providers — used to correspond with you and to issue invoices.

Because several of these providers store data outside Australia, your information may be held or processed overseas. We only use reputable providers who are contractually and legally obliged to protect it.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it — for example, a court order or a regulator's lawful request.

5. Cookies & tracking

This site uses cookies and similar technologies for two reasons: to make the site work properly, and to measure advertising.

The Meta Pixel is a small piece of code that tells us when someone who saw one of our ads later visited the site or sent an enquiry. It does not tell us who you are by name.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. You can also limit ad tracking directly with Meta through your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences. The site will still work fine with cookies turned off.

6. Storage & security

Your information is stored in password-protected accounts with the providers listed above, secured with two-factor authentication where it's offered. This site is served over HTTPS, so anything you submit through a form is encrypted in transit.

No system is bulletproof, and we won't pretend otherwise. If a data breach ever occurred that was likely to cause you serious harm, we would notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't turn into work are kept for up to two years, then deleted. Client project records and financial records are kept for at least seven years, because Australian tax law requires it. You can ask us to delete anything we're not legally required to hold.

8. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that's wrong or out of date
  • Delete your information, where we're not required to keep it
  • Stop sending you marketing emails or messages

Email info@nowebsitemate.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first so we're not handing your details to someone else.

You can deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym if you'd rather — though realistically we can't quote on a job or build you a site without knowing how to contact you.

9. Websites we build for clients

This policy covers nowebsitemate.com.au only. If we've built a website for your business, you are the operator of that site and responsible for its own privacy policy and for how you handle enquiries that come through it.

While a project is active — and during any ongoing hosting or support arrangement — we may have administrative access to your site and the enquiry data it collects. We access it only to do the work you've asked for, and we don't use your customers' information for anything else.

10. Children

Our services are aimed at business owners. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we'll remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our tools or practices change. The date at the top of the page always shows the current version. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact & complaints
